PALESTINE British Mandate Bronze 1939 1 Mil Coin
Introducing a rare and exquisite 1939 1 Mil Palestine British Mandate coin, a true gem from Israel's historical legacy. This remarkable coin is not just a piece of currency but a tangible link to the bygone era of British rule in the region. A must-have for numismatists, history enthusiasts, and collectors alike.
This 1 Mill coin was the Palestinian "penny" (1/100th of 1 Pound), a currency used from 1927 - 1948 on account of the 'British Mandate For Palestine' which came into effect on September 29, 1923, drafted by the former League of Nations. It has since been replaced by the Israeli Lira and the Jordanian Dinar.
In spite of its high relief olive branch and title in THREE languages (Arabic, English and Hebrew). peace in the region has been hard to come by. A most historic Middle Eastern coin!! It comes from the land on the eastern end of the Mediterranean that began the 20th Century as a possession of the Ottoman Empire, then became a British Mandate (occupied territory), and finally Jordan, Israel and Palestine (West bank and Gaza) of today.
