RARE Alfred Meakin Cup of Knowledge, Royal Marigold, Vintage Teacup and Saucer Set

This rare, imaginative tea cup and saucer set from Alfred Meakin is a collectors piece.  The Teacup is comprised of a creamy white colored clay.  A brightly colored floral sprays of marigold pattern decorates both the Cup and the Saucer.  Inside the cup, it reads "The Cup of Knowledge" above a finely painted deck of playing cards in red and black detail.  The edges of the Teacup rim, handle and it’s Saucer are trimmed in 18K gold. Very pretty in person!

The back of the Saucer is stamped Alfred Meakin England Royal Marigold. Both the Saucer and Teacup are stamped 18K Gold Border on the base.

Made out of porcelain in England.  Vintage from the 1930s

No Chips, Cracks or Damage. 

Dimensions (approx.): Teacup is 2 1/4" high and 3 3/4" in diameter at the top while saucer is 5 3/4" in diameter.
